JOHN’S SHOWREEL
BIO
John is an international expert on leadership and team development. One of the world’s great storytellers, he shares his thought-provoking leadership and team building teachings in a unique way - through African animal fables.
John’s captivating “Leadership Safari” presentations explore his “Big Five Leadership Territories”, taking audiences deep into the African bush on experiential journeys of the imagination to help leaders develop engaged individuals, high performing teams, and exceptional corporate cultures.
An entrepreneur and ex-CEO, he masterfully weaves his extensive business experience and extraordinary life journey through an upbringing and military service in war-torn Zimbabwe, personal tragedies, and fulfilling triumphs, into stories and anecdotes that teach in the most compelling and impactful way.
John has lived and worked on three continents and has developed a deep understanding of people and organisations. Early in his career, he founded his own successful advertising agency from which not a single staff member resigned in 7 years. Later, in Australia, he led a large human services company through the merging of 12 separate organisations in a four year period, to achieve global top-tier staff satisfaction and engagement ratings only one year after the main merger.
He has degrees in business and psychology and is the author of two books. He has been published in numerous magazines and has appeared on national radio and television in Australia.
Professor Robert McKee said: “Storytelling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world”. John’s work is testimony to the truth of that.
